Living Is Self-realisation
Original title:
Vivir es autorrealizarse. Reflexiones y creaciones en Análisis Transaccional
About the book:
Living Is Self-realisation
The aim of Transactional Analysis, the system of psychotherapy pioneered by the celebrated psychiatrist Eric Berne, is the development and fostering of our potentialities, a process of full self-realisation. At a deep level, it helps us to escape from the shackling life-script decided for us in our early childhood and that we may be keeping to now quite unconsciously. At a functional level it helps us to use our Parent to provide care, our Adult to become true individuals, and our Child to receive care, both within ourselves in our own self-nurture, and in our interaction with others.
Living is self-realisation constitutes both an introduction to Transactional Analysis for those interested in personal growth, and represents a bold step forward for those working in human sciences and health sciences, even where they were already familiar with the system.
This, then, is a highly suggestive book, and an innovative one. It includes unpublished essays on transactional analysis both by the principal author and others, and including – crucially – writers from other systems of psychology. And of course the approach is as always open to the transpersonal.
About the author:
