This volume is an exhaustive manual on the different ways of focusing on the psyche and its phenomena.  It constitutes a publishing first, a publishing event of the first order, since it sets out to redress the confusion generated by the profusion of different schools and paradigms in psychology, often in conflict among themselves and arguing infelicitously for the exclusion of other approaches.

Carmelo Vásquez Valverde is a university teacher at the Faculty of psychology of Madrid's Universidad Complutense, and author of many publications on depression and schizophrenia, including among others, Psicología médica, psicopatalogía y psiquiatría and Técnicas cognitivas de intervención clínica.
