Mª Teresa Giménez Barbat
Star Dust
Original title:
Polvo de estrellas.
About the book:
Star Dust
Conchita was married to a man twenty years older than herself. Quique is the man's twenty year old son. Living together does not create a mother-son relationship, far from it. In fact, the Dad's pretty-pretty, mystic and credulous wife, and the brusque, foul-mouthed and sarcastic young rationalist discover that an intense passion has flared up between them.
Do opposite poles attract? Is love within the family healthy? What has a self-induced orgasm to do with mystic communication? Is our destiny written in the stars? Does a having sex need to be something more than just having sex?
These and other questions are answered in this crazy, highly entertaining novel. In it the reader can find out – among many other things – how a rebirthing therapist ends up being Honorary Member of a Sceptical Association and how an astrophysicist and militant rationalist is abducted by horrendous lizard from outer space.
Here, at last, is a story which is told with both humour and intelligence, and which in passing invites us to reflect on human beings and their place in the cosmos.
