Fina Sanz
The Labyrinths of Daily Life
Original title:
Los laberintos de la vida cotidiana. La enfermedad como autoconocimiento, cambio y transformación
About the book:
The Labyrinths of Daily Life
Fina Sanz, a pioneer in her field in Spain, and with an international reputation, has written a moving and direction-setting book. A lucid and revealing work on one of the most unsettling conditions for human beings: illness.
Fina Sanz analyses illness as a labyrinthine process that has to be passed through, taking the labyrinth as a universal symbol approached from a transpersonal perspective, that of self-knowledge. The writer reviews the concept in a sociocultural context and provides a range of examples of labyrinthine conflicts from a clinical point of view. Lastly, Fina Sanz situates herself as an observer of herself over the course of her own process of illness, carries out a critical assessment of this process and provides essential advice on how to improve quality of life for any one who is faced with serious illness.
The book is aimed not only at those who are in the midst of labyrinthine crises, especially that of serious illness, but also at those who share the experience with them. The book is also intended for health professionals, and more generally for all those, professional or otherwise, who are interested in the internal processes of such labyrinthine situations. The reader may find in this hope-inspiring book the Ariadne's thread that will lead them out of their personal labyrinth.
