For hundreds of years, humanity has scrutinised the universe, trying to put a little order in the apparent chaos, but at the same time observing the "cosmic clock" which constantly influences life on Earth.  Many have asked what our place in the universe really is, and what it will be tomorrow. Scientists are increasingly willing to think beyond the strict limits of their discipline or speciality – seeking an overall system of thinking that will enable us to enter into the complexities of the 21st century. Nonetheless, the primordial question remains open: To what extent and in what way is  humankind rooted in the natural world?

This Newtonian and Reichian question was asked by the forerunners of the shamans, the Fallen Angels, who observed both the Heavens and the Earth.

The thesis of this book has to do with the lives of our ancestors and looks at the formation of the human mind in this context. It also looks at the relationship to Mediterranean cosmologies, initiation ceremonies, and Shamanism.

About the author:

Carlos Frigola, a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, began to delve into the world of anthropology during field work carried out on popular archetypes, healers and traditional thought. He has a diploma in Community Mental Health from the Tavistock Clinic and the Institute of Group Analysis in London. He is the author of a number of books, the editor of the Revista de ciencias orgonómicas (Journal of orgonomic sciences) and director of the Wilhelm Reich Foundation.
