About the book:
The Teachings of Sri Aurobindo
Sri Aurobindo (1872-1950), philosopher, poet and politician, was also a yogi and a true Spiritual Master according to strict Hindu tradition. Sri Aurobindo encarnates the ideal wise man, such as it has been conceived in the most important spiritual traditions known to humanity, and at the same time he transformes the very concept by offering a more complete image, synthesis of the old definitions of the sage and of wisdom.
Born into the Hindu tradition, but having received a Western education, Aurobindo becomes one of the pioneers in the East-West synthesis, and together with Mirra Alfassa (known as “The Mother”) he elaborates a way of thinking and a yoga adapted to our epoch: an integral philosophy articulated around the notion of a growing supramental Conscience-Energy which human beings have the historical opportunity to encarnate, participating in this way in the mutation which is taking place amongst us.
