About the book:
The Teachings of Ramana Maharshi
Human cognition is only recognition. There are very few human beings for whom each perception is a new dawn. In the East those men and women have been called illuminated rishis, jivanmuktas, munis, budas…
Ramana Maharshi (1879-1950) is one of those silent rishis who speak only in order to point to a direction but never to describe a phenomenon. A true sage. Master of paradox and eloquence, he distracted men and women from their daily sufferings by repeating the famous recommendation of the Delphic Oracle: “Know thyself”.
It is no easy task to present the life and work of this fascinating figure who, from his youth, refused to be simply a man. Some will take him for the reincarnation of a sacred being, others for a respectable mystic, others for an extravagant beggar who lost his mental faculties. ¿Who was Sri Ramana Maharshi really? This book presents a man which only partly fits those definitions, because Rama “the kind one”, was nothing, or rather, he was a thin and imperceptible nothingness, a miracle of light which got lost in this world of brutal dissatisfactions.
