The new paradigm emerging in science is beginning to uncover the extraordinarily creative capacity of nature, its intrinsic tendency to ascend the steps of organised complexity.

In this book a daring hypothesis is put forward (one which Ervin Laszlo himself described as “fascinating”) to account for this mysterious quantum emergence of new species. Taking as point of departure the universe's vibrant totality and considering its consequent stages of standing or stationary waves, what is proposed is a simple scheme of rhythms of folding and unfolding of levels of dynamic stability in the world. The accuracy of this hypothesis is astonishing when we come to compare its predictions with the data on the global evolution of the macrocosmos (paleontological and historical) and of the individual development of the microcosmos (embryological and psychological). Could it be that what we have here is a periodic table, so to speak, of the world's ways of becoming?

The concept developed by Diez Faixat is profoundly in tune with the perennial philosophy and the new science (Wilbur, Bohm...) and this would seem to indicate that here we may find ourselves on the track of a vision of the world which, going beyond the old mechanist view of the universe, invites us to participate joyfully in the self-creative dynamic of the Whole, to open ourselves to the uncontainable flow that is orientated toward All-encompassing Plenitude. A plenitude that, paradoxically, we have always had.

Jose Díez Faixat is an architect, non-violent conscientious objector, ecologist, rural community member.From 1979 he has focused on research into basic reality, of form both as experienced (mystical, non-dualistic) and as theoretical (study of spiritual traditions and the sciences of the New Paradigm).
