In Educación holística [Holistic Education] Ana María González offers the testimony of her life, a review of her perceptions, knowledge, experience and reflections, as well as exercises intended to assist readers in finding answers to their concerns regarding their own learning.

Based on her experiences in the field of education, the author puts forward a proposal for a new educational approach, based on a holistic view of education, where the principal objective is to favour and enhance the process of evolution of consciousness in its progress towards total liberation, full realisation, and the transcending of the barriers that stop us from waking to our true essence. This holistic focus is not solely directed at the development of multiple intelligences – according to Gardner’s analysis – but above all at the development of existential intelligence and spiritual intelligence.

About the author:

Ana María González Garza is doctor in Human Development from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico. She pioneered transpersonal approaches in the Spanish-speaking world. She is the author of Colisión de paradigmas [Collision of Paradigms] (published by Kairós), Enfoque centrado en la persona: Aplicaciones a la educación [Focus on the Person: Applications in Education]; El niño y su mundo [The child and its World], and El niño y la educación [The Child and Education].
