From the Rubbish Bin
Original title:
Del cubo de la basura. En busca de los valores perdidos
About the book:
From the Rubbish Bin
In this brief essay, we propose to carry out, somewhat haphazardly, but without losing our direction, a brief excursus, with the aim of overthrowing our firm principles of rational safety, to return with trembling hands back over the millennia, those that have passed, and those that are being consumed as our life passes, to undo one of the most serious errors of a humanity that thinks itself so educated and erudite. What is involved here is putting our hands in the rubbish bins of history, where lie millions of values which have turned human beings into a sort of robotised mummy, exposed to unthinkable nuclear suicide looming in the near future, and plunged in poverty that effects the majority of people on the planet.
Here we only have room to outline the bravest and most valid testimonies from the great men and women of Progress who were not afraid or ashamed, or too squeamish to thrust their hands in millions of rubbish bins where for many centuries the best and greatest of human values have lain hidden. We have been faithful to their spontaneity, and have let them speak for themselves.
They are: E. Fromm, F. Nietzsche, K. Popper, A. Glucksmann, E. Morin, M. Ferguson, A. Finkielkraut, J. Eccles, P. Feyerabend, C.G. Jung, among others.
