Is the counscious awakening to oneness a step in human development? Ought psychology include the unitary dimension of man as a part of its discipline?  If this proved to be so, would we be talking of a fifth force within psychology.

How to unify concepts and theories in the profound subjectivity of human experiences?  How to view the transcendence and highest values of the Self in an historic moment when the world is shaken by wars, violence, alienation and injustice?  How can we talk of freedom when human beings live enslaved by their own selves. What to do, given the constant struggle between paradigms that proclaim “their truth” to humanity as the only dichotomisation.

These and other questions are tackled here in a courageous, simple, yet profound and feeling way by the author, by means of a process of clarification in which the knowledge, the ideas, concepts, the reasons, intuitions and experiences brought together here become interwoven in a dialogue with the reader, who is invited to explore and discover the light of his or her own inner self, the essence of which we all form a part.

About the author:

Ana María González Garza has a doctorate in Human Development from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico. She pioneered the introduction of the transpersonal approach into the Spanish-speaking world. She is the author of, amongst other things, Los caminos de transcendencia (The paths of transcendance) and De la sombra a la luz (From the shadows to the light).
